New Hope for Stroke Patients
A large study led by Stanford Medicine researchers has resulted in the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association updating their guidelines for treating acute strokes. The window of time stroke patients can be treated with a clot removing procedure has been extended from 6 hours to up to 24 hours, meaning a much lower risk of long-term effects for many stroke patients.
